Hunting Books: Bowhunter's Field Manual

Bowhunter's Field Manual - Cooney
This book of how-to bowhunting information for big and small game across North America is authored by one of America's most prominent outdoor writers and photographers-Judd Cooney.

Cooney shares his unique wealth of hunting information with tips and tactics for pursuing whitetail and coues deer, elk, caribou, moose, bear, antelope, mule and blacktail deer, and cougar. He offers sage advice on how to bowhunt for turkey, javelinas, hogs, game birds, waterfowl and first-rate tactics for bowfishing.

With Cooney's own practical field experience of over 50 years, you'll find useful suggestions on what to do after the hit and steps for preparing your trophy when afield. This also includes a listing of Game and Fish departments throughout North America.

Author Cooney has been active in the outdoor writing and photography field since 1966 and has been a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America for 34 years. He is one of only two members to serve three terms on the board of directors. In 2001, Cooney was inducted into the Bowhunter's Hall of Fame for his contribution in advancing the sport of bowhunting through photos and the written word. Since 1980, his cover photos have appeared on numerous outdoor magazines including BOW AND ARROW HUNTING, BOWHUNTING WORLD, and others, along with several Canadian and European publications.

He stays busy during the fall trying to hunt as many areas of the country as he can and running Iowa Trophy Whitetail Outfitters, a quality trophy whitetail and turkey operation in the hill country of western Iowa where the bucks are humongous.

This book was made possible by the Bowhunting Preservation Alliance (BPA), a nonprofit foundation created by the Archery Trade Association. Proceeds from every sale of this book will be used to build archery ranges, provide archery and bowhunting education programs, support urban bowhunting opportunities, and increase overall bowhunting participation across the United States.
