Archery Books: Denise Parker

Denise Parker Cover
Woods N’ Water Press is excited to announce the release of its newest title in the SAVE OUR HERITAGE series of branded books in association with the Archery Trade Association titled, Denise Parker: A Teenage Archer’s Quest for Olympic Glory by Denise Parker with Kathy Etling.

During the Olympics in 1988, a 14 year-old girl named Denise Parker drew back her bow, released her arrow and surprised the archery competition by helping her team to win a bronze medal at the Seoul Games in South Korea. Parker also competed in the 1992 and 2000 Olympics. She has had two top-10 individual finishes at the World Championships, five first place finishes in the U.S. National Championships, and on three occasions placed first at the Pan American Games.

Denise Parker: A Teenage Archer’s Quest for Olympic Glory takes a unique look into the journey of a world-class archer, who, at the age of just 14, competed and, through sheer determination, secured a spot on the 1988 Olympic Games. Because of her age, she wasn’t expected to medal. What “they” didn’t know was this teenager’s tenacity to succeed. In this intriguing book, Denise Parker recounts all aspects of her archery career. From the countless hours of meticulous practice, to the joy of winning her first world competition, to the march for an Olympic medal¬–this book tells it all. It is the perfect read for any child or teenager who not only strives to achieve greatness as an archer–but also provides parents and mentors insights to help any child or young adult to achieve his/her dreams in life as well.

As part of the SAVE OUR HERITAGE program, proceeds from every sale of this and future titles go directly back into the Archery Trade Association and its non-profit entities: The Bowhunting Preservation Alliance and ArrowSport. The SAVE OUR HERITAGE program helps to enhance or add archery in every community, prolong bowhunters’ outdoor pursuits across our country, and expand the introduction of bowhunting and archery to young adults throughout our nation.

As the CEO and President of the Archery Trade Association, Jay McAninch, said, “Denise Parker’s rise to international fame as an archer was due largely to her parents and their love for archery. Today, Denise’s story is a realistic possibility for thousands of school-age girls in nearly every state because of the National Archery in the Schools Program. Your purchase will ensure that future archers who aspire to follow Denise Parker will get their chance.”
